Junc Gallery, APAK, Aya Kakeda, Betsy Walton
Nov 15, 2008

In the tradition of the best folktales Apak, Betsy Walton and Aya Kakeda have the ability to manifest familiar experiences and truths in an updated adaptation that include elements of pop culture, illustration, Asian and European folktales presented with well developed personal vocabularies. The results vary based on each artists own agenda but the commonality is contemporary illustration that is well conceived and visually arresting.
